Four situations that really are emergencies
Most garage door problems feel urgent for about an hour. These four stay urgent until someone fixes them.
- The door is stuck open and you cannot close it safely. An open garage is an open house. If the door will not come down by hand without force, it needs a look tonight, not next week.
- The car is trapped inside. A snapped torsion spring is the usual cause. The door is still on its cables, but it now weighs more than the opener was built to lift, and pushing the opener harder is how motors burn out.
- The door is off its track or visibly bent. A sagging corner, a cable hanging loose or a folded panel means the door is no longer held where it should be. Do not run it again.
- It fell, or it will not stay up. If it comes down on its own, keep people and pets out from under it until it is fixed.
What can wait until morning
A remote or keypad that stopped working, a door that grinds or squeaks, a slow close, blinking safety sensors and worn weatherstripping are all worth fixing soon. None of them leaves you exposed overnight as long as the door closes and the wall button or manual release still works. If that describes your situation, book a regular visit and save the call-out.
Your first ten minutes
- Stop using the opener. Every extra press on a door with a broken part makes the damage bigger.
- Do not touch the springs, the cables or the bottom brackets. They hold the stored force of the whole door.
- Pull the red release cord only when the door is fully closed. If the door is up or partly open and a spring has gone, releasing it can let the door drop.
- Look, do not fix. Note whether there is a gap in the spring coil, a frayed cable or a gap along the track. Describing that on the phone tells us what to put on the truck.
- If your car is inside and the door is closed, leave it there. It can wait for the repair.
Getting to you in Mesa
Mesa is big, so the drive matters. From our usual routes, west Mesa near Dobson Ranch, Lehi and downtown is about 25 to 35 minutes, Red Mountain and Las Sendas about 35 to 45, and Eastmark about 40 to 50. We answer Monday through Friday 7:00 am to 8:00 pm and Sunday 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. When you call, tell us the door size and whether it has one spring or two. That is usually enough to bring the right parts the first time.
What the bill looks like
The service call is $35 and it comes off the repair when you go ahead with it. A torsion spring pair runs $180 to $290 installed, depending on how heavy the door is and whether you choose a standard spring or a high-cycle one. An opener gear and sprocket kit is $289. You hear the price before we start, and repairs carry a written one-year warranty on parts and labor.
“Nate came out to our house and had our problem diagnosed within 3 minutes, he then took care of it and showed me what caused it and how to prevent it in the future. All for a super fair price.”

Questions people actually ask
Emergency garage door repair in Mesa
What counts as a garage door emergency in Mesa?
Four things: a door stuck open that you cannot safely close, a car trapped inside by a broken spring, a door that has come off its track or is visibly bent, and a door that will not stay up. A dead remote, a noisy door or a slow close can wait for a normal appointment as long as the door closes and locks.
Is it safe to leave my garage door open overnight?
It is not a good idea. An open garage gives anyone a way into the house and lets dust and monsoon rain into the space. If you cannot lower the door by hand without forcing it, do not force it. Call (480) 405-0909 and describe what you see.
Can I open the door by hand if a spring broke?
Please do not try. A door with a broken torsion spring is far heavier than the opener was ever meant to lift, and lifting it yourself can bend the panels or hurt your back. Leave it where it is and call us.
How much does an emergency repair cost in Mesa?
The service call is $35 and it is credited to the repair. A torsion spring pair runs $180 to $290 installed depending on door weight and cycle rating, and an opener gear and sprocket kit is $289. You get the price before any work starts, and repairs carry a written one-year warranty on parts and labor.
