Garage Door Opener Repair Services With Warranty in Goodyear

Ask about the warranty on an opener repair and you will usually get one answer: “one year, parts and labour”. In fact there are three separate warranties sitting on that repair, and one of them might already belong to you without your knowing it.

An opener repair in Goodyear typically carries three layers of cover: the manufacturer’s warranty on the new part, the installing company’s warranty on its own labour, and whatever remains of the original opener’s factory warranty, which on a newer unit can still be live. They have different durations and different things that void them. Above All Garage Door Service gives a written one-year parts and labour warranty and records the model and serial on the invoice. Three layers

The warranty you probably already have and did not claim

Start with the layer people miss. If your opener was installed in the last several years, it very likely still has manufacturer cover on some components. Major brands commonly warrant the motor for a long period — often ten years or more, sometimes for the life of the unit — while covering other parts and the logic board for a much shorter window. A belt is frequently covered longer than the electronics around it.

This matters because the part that fails is not always the part that is out of cover. A homeowner told the opener is “out of warranty” may still have a claimable motor, and the repair then becomes a labour charge instead of a replacement. The only way to know is to look up the specific model’s warranty statement, which is why the model and serial number are worth having.

Nobody is hiding this. It is simply that the company repairing the unit is rarely the company that sold it, and has no record of the install date.

What each of the three layers actually covers

Keep them separate in your head and a warranty conversation becomes much simpler:

  • The manufacturer’s part warranty. Covers the new component against defect, and almost never covers the labour to fit it. Duration varies by part within the same unit — motor long, board short — so ask which part and which term.
  • The installing company’s labour warranty. Covers the work. This is the one that actually protects you, because a defective part is useless if refitting it costs another full service call. Ours is one year, in writing, stated separately from the part.
  • The original opener’s remaining factory warranty. Dormant until someone checks the model and serial against the install date. Worth two minutes before authorising a replacement on a unit under about seven years old.

What voids each one — and it is not what people expect

The common voiders are mundane, and three of the four are avoidable:

  1. An unbalanced door. This is the big one. Manufacturers assume the opener is moving a counterbalanced door. If the springs are undersized and the opener is lifting real weight, a failed gear or motor can be declined as misuse — fairly, because that is what happened.
  2. Parts fitted by someone other than a licensed contractor. Mixed-source repairs muddy both the part and the labour cover. If a previous repair used a non-original board or gear, the manufacturer side can walk away.
  3. No proof of install date. Without an invoice showing model, serial and date, a manufacturer claim has nothing to attach to. This is the single most common reason a valid claim fails.
  4. Commercial use of a residential opener. A residential unit on a door cycling thirty times a day is outside its rating, and that is visible from the wear pattern.

Three of those four come back to the same thing: get the springs right and keep the paperwork.

The one document that makes a claim work

Whatever company you use, make sure the invoice shows all of this before you file it away:

  • The make, model and serial number of the opener — not just “garage door opener”.
  • Each part replaced, named individually, with its own price.
  • The date of the work and the ROC licence number of the company that did it.
  • The parts warranty period and the labour warranty period, written as two separate figures.

Our warranty, stated plainly

One year on parts and one year on labour, in writing, with the model and serial recorded so the manufacturer layer stays claimable.

  • Written one-year warranty covering both the part we supplied and the work we did to fit it.
  • We check the balance of the door on every opener repair, because an unbalanced door is what voids manufacturer cover.
  • Model and serial recorded on your invoice, so a future claim has something to attach to.
  • $35 service call credited against the repair; torsion spring pair $180 to $290 if the door is the real fault.
  • ROC338265, bonded and insured. Dispatch Monday to Friday 7am to 8pm, Sunday 8am to 6pm.

Common questions

Warranty questions, Goodyear

Do you offer garage door opener repair with a warranty in Goodyear?

Yes. Every opener repair we do in Goodyear carries a written one-year warranty on the part and a written one-year warranty on the labour, stated as two separate terms rather than a single headline. We also record the opener’s make, model and serial number on your invoice so any remaining manufacturer cover stays claimable. Arizona ROC338265, bonded and insured.

Is my garage door opener still under manufacturer warranty?

It might be, and it is worth checking before agreeing to a replacement. Major brands commonly cover the motor for ten years or more while covering the logic board and other parts for a much shorter period, so the failed part and the covered part are not always the same. Find the model and serial on the label on the motor housing and check that model’s warranty statement against your install date.

What voids a garage door opener warranty?

The most common cause is an unbalanced door. Manufacturers assume the opener is moving a counterbalanced door, so if the torsion springs are undersized and the opener is lifting actual weight, a stripped gear or burnt motor can reasonably be declined as misuse. Other common voiders are repairs using non-original parts, running a residential opener on a commercial-duty door, and having no invoice proving the install date.

Does a lifetime warranty on a garage door part include labour?

Usually not. A lifetime part warranty generally means the manufacturer will supply a replacement component, while you pay a service call and labour to have it fitted. That can still be worth having, but it is a different thing from what most people hear. Ask for the parts term and the labour term as two separate numbers and compare quotes on that basis.
