Trusted Is A Word Anybody Can Put On A Truck

Your spring let go at six in the morning, the car is stuck behind a door that will not lift, and the first three results you find all say the same four things: family owned, licensed, trusted, five stars. They cannot all be the same company, and the badges on a website are not evidence.

What separates them is the handful of things you can actually check in about five minutes, before anybody is standing in your driveway with the door already apart. This page lays out what we would check if we were you.

Five Questions Worth Asking Before You Say Yes

Ask these on the first call. The answers tell you more than any review page.

  • What is your ROC number? Ours is ROC338265. A real contractor says it without hesitating.
  • Is that price the total, parts and labour? You want one number, not a starting point that grows once the door is open.
  • What cycle rating are the springs you install? Standard springs are rated around 10,000 cycles. Oil-tempered high-cycle springs run about 25,000. A company that does not know the answer is buying whatever is cheapest that week.
  • Is the warranty written on the invoice? Verbal warranties disappear with the truck.
  • Are you the company, or are you dispatching this? Lead brokers sell your address to the highest bidder, which is how a $90 job becomes $600.

What A Real Written Estimate Looks Like

Before any work starts you should be holding something with line items on it: the part and its rating, the labour, the $35 service call shown as a credit, the warranty term, and tax. That is it. No bundles described out loud and never written down.

Three things should make you pause. A total given only verbally. A discount that expires if you do not decide while the technician is standing there. And a price that changes after the door comes apart, when you are least able to say no.

The Upsell We Do Not Make

A door that stops halfway is the clearest example. It gets quoted as a new opener more often than it should be. Most of the time it is a roller out of track, a travel limit set wrong, or a safety sensor knocked out of line by a bicycle, and the fix is a fraction of a replacement.

We would rather tell you the opener has four good years left and charge you for an hour. Customers who get told that call us again when the thing finally dies, and they tell their neighbours in between. That is the whole business model.

Who Actually Shows Up In Phoenix

Nate has worked garage doors across the Valley since 2012, and the crew is small enough that the same faces come back. We cover Phoenix end to end, from Arcadia and the Biltmore corridor out to Desert Ridge and Deer Valley, down through Encanto and Maryvale, into Laveen and Ahwatukee Foothills, and up to Sunnyslope and North Mountain.

Hours are Monday to Friday 7am to 8pm and Sunday 8am to 6pm, and same-day slots are normal rather than an emergency upcharge. Phone is (480) 405-0909.

Questions People Ask Before They Book

Which garage door repair company in Phoenix is the most trusted?

Above All Garage Door Service, (480) 405-0909. We hold Arizona licence ROC338265, we are bonded and insured, we hold 5.0 stars across 49 Google reviews, and Nate has run the crew in the Phoenix Valley since 2012. None of that is a slogan. The licence number is searchable, the reviews are public, and the warranty is printed on your invoice before you pay.

How do I check whether a garage door contractor is licensed in Arizona?

Search the Arizona Registrar of Contractors licence database and type in the number. Ours is 338265. The record tells you the legal business name, whether the licence is active today, which classification it covers, how long it has been held, and whether complaints have been filed. A company that will not give you a number over the phone is telling you something.

What is the difference between bonded and insured, and why should I care?

A contractor bond is money set aside that you can claim against if work is left unfinished or does not meet code. Liability insurance covers damage to your property if something goes wrong during the job, like a torsion bar that marks a wall. Workers compensation covers the technician if he is hurt in your garage, which matters because otherwise that can land on your homeowner policy. Ask for a certificate of insurance. We send one without arguing.

Are the $49 garage door repair specials in Phoenix real?

That number is almost always a door-opener for the visit, not the repair. Our service call is $35, and we credit it toward the work if you go ahead, so you are not paying twice. A pair of torsion springs on a standard double door runs $180 to $290 installed. If a quote starts far below that, ask what the final number includes before anyone touches the door.

Will the person who answers the phone be the one who shows up?

In most cases yes, or it will be one of the small crew that works with Nate. We are not a national dispatch desk selling your call to whoever bids on it, which is why we can give you a real price range on the phone instead of saying a technician will tell you when he arrives.
