Garage Door Repair in Paradise Valley, AZ

Paradise Valley garages tend to be big: three- and four-door banks, custom panels and oversize openers. One failed part rarely stays alone.

In Paradise Valley the usual calls are a spring pair on an oversize door ($180 to $290 per door), a drive struggling with heavy custom panels, or a sensor or keypad failing on one door of a multi-door bank. Call (480) 405-0909. A real person answers 24/7, technicians are dispatched Monday to Friday 7:00 to 20:00 and Sunday 8:00 to 18:00, and the service call is $35.

Multi-door garages: fix the one that failed, check the others

Many Paradise Valley homes have three or four garage doors, sometimes bought and installed together. When one spring breaks, its neighbors have a similar age. They are not used the same way, though: the bay by the kitchen opens ten times a day and the guest-car bay once a week. So the door that failed is usually the busy one, and the other busy bay is worth a quick look.

We would not talk you into replacing every spring in the house. We look, tell you what we see and let you decide. A spring pair is $180 to $290 per door, so you can budget it door by door.

Custom and oversize doors

Custom wood, steel-and-glass and extra-tall doors weigh more than a standard panel door. The springs have to be sized to that exact door, and an opener installed for a lighter door will fight it. Try this only if the door moves freely and no spring is broken: pull the red release cord and lift the door halfway by hand. A balanced door stays put. One that drifts up or drops is out of balance.

A balanced door is easier on the opener, the cables and the rollers, so balance is the first thing to check. If the opener is the problem, a belt drive (about $689 installed) is the quiet choice for a garage next to a bedroom or patio, and a wall-mounted jackshaft (from $1,350) suits tall doors because it frees up the ceiling.

Sensors, keypads and remotes on a big property

On a large property the failures people notice are small ones: a keypad that stopped working, a remote that only works from the driveway, a sensor that blinks. Change the keypad battery first, then re-sync the remote. If a sensor blinks, wipe the lens and re-aim the bracket. We cover the longer version in our remote and keypad guide and our sensor guide.

If none of that works, the part gets replaced, programmed and the door gets tested before anyone leaves.

What you can expect when we arrive

We give you a likely price on the phone. A technician arrives in the window we agree on and, if you ask, looks at every door in the bank. You hear the price before work begins, and we show you the old part.

Here is how one customer described working with us:

Paradise Valley questions

Garage door repair in Paradise Valley: common questions

How much does garage door repair cost in Paradise Valley?

A spring pair is $180 to $290 per door, a gear kit for many chain drive openers is $289, a belt drive opener installed is about $689 and a wall-mounted jackshaft starts at $1,350. The service call is $35. With several doors, we quote each one separately.

Can you service every door in my garage in one visit?

Yes. Tell us how many doors and openers you have when you call and we plan the visit around all of them. Each door is quoted separately.

Do you work on custom wood and glass doors?

Yes, on the moving parts: springs, cables, rollers, hinges, sensors and openers. For damage to the custom panels themselves, we will tell you honestly whether a repair makes sense or whether the maker is the better call.

The door closes and then reverses. Is the opener broken?

Usually not. It is most often a sensor out of line or a dirty lens, or a travel limit that needs adjusting. Wipe the lenses and check that both sensor lights are steady. Call us if it keeps happening.

Is it safe to adjust the springs myself?

No. Torsion springs hold heavy tension and the winding step is where most injuries happen. Adjusting or replacing them is a job for a trained technician.
