Top-Rated Garage Door Spring Repair Companies in Peoria AZ
The company with four hundred reviews may have earned almost all of them on remotes, keypads and tune-ups. None of that tells you how it handles a spring under three hundred pounds of tension.

What the stars hide
A star rating blends jobs that are nothing alike
Garage door companies do a wide spread of work, and the easy jobs vastly outnumber the hard ones. Reprogramming a remote, replacing a keypad battery, adjusting a limit switch, a seasonal tune-up: all quick, all pleasant, all five stars.
Spring replacement is the other end of the trade. It is the one residential repair with a genuine injury rate, it requires measuring rather than guessing, and it is where corner-cutting shows up two years later rather than that afternoon.
So a 4.9 average across four hundred reviews is not evidence about spring work. It is evidence that a lot of remotes got paired. You have to go and look at the spring reviews specifically, and there are usually far fewer of them than the headline number suggests.
How to filter a Peoria company down to its spring jobs
This takes about five minutes on your phone and it is the most useful five minutes in the whole process:
- Search inside the reviews. Google Business profiles let you search review text. Type "spring" and read only what comes back.
- Count what is left. Four hundred reviews with nine mentions of springs is a company that mostly does something else.
- Check the dates on those nine. Spring reviews from four years ago describe a crew that may have entirely turned over since.
- Check where the reviewers are. Peoria, Sun City, Surprise and Glendale names mean someone has actually worked your side of the Valley. A profile whose spring reviews are all from the far East Valley is telling you about a drive, not a service.
The three details a real spring review mentions
Reviews written after genuine spring work tend to contain specifics, because the customer was shown things. Look for any of these:
- A measurement or a size. "He measured the wire across the coils", "it turned out to be a 2-inch", "my door needed a heavier spring than the original". That customer watched a professional work.
- A part beyond the spring. Mentions of cables, drums, bearings or the bottom bracket mean the technician inspected the whole balance system rather than swapping the one broken item.
- A number that was not a surprise. "The price he quoted on the phone was the price" is the single most predictive line in a garage door review.
What is not evidence: speed on its own. "Here in twenty minutes" is good news about dispatch and no news at all about whether the spring was sized to the door.
Two warning patterns in Peoria reviews specifically
Peoria has a lot of older housing in the south and a lot of very new housing in the north, and each side produces a characteristic complaint worth searching for:
- "Came back a year later for the other spring." Common on the older doubles. It usually means one spring of an ageing pair was replaced and the labour got charged twice inside a year. Not dishonest, but it tells you the customer was not shown the second spring.
- "The new door is heavier than they thought." Common on the newer insulated doors. It means the replacement spring was matched to old paperwork rather than to the actual door weight, which is exactly how a two-year spring becomes a nine-month spring.
If you can find those two phrases in a profile, you have learned more than the star average will ever tell you.
What our own number is built on
Our rating is 5.0 from 49 Google reviews. That is a smaller number than some of the companies you will compare us against, and we would rather you read it than count it. Above All Garage Door Service has worked the Phoenix Valley since 2012 and holds Arizona licence ROC338265, bonded and insured.
- Torsion spring replacement $180 to $290, quoted as a range before the drive.
- A $35 service call named on the phone.
- Wire size, inside diameter, length, wind direction and door weight taken on site and shown to you.
- The phone is answered 24/7. Technicians are dispatched Monday to Friday 7:00 am to 8:00 pm and Sunday 8:00 am to 6:00 pm.
Questions we actually get
What Peoria homeowners ask when comparing companies
How do I find the top-rated garage door spring repair company in Peoria?
Do not rank by star average. Open each company profile, search the review text for the word spring, and read only those. Check how many there are, how recent they are, and whether the reviewers are in Peoria or the surrounding north-west Valley. A company with fewer total reviews but a dozen recent, specific, local spring reviews is a better bet than one with hundreds of remote-programming five stars.
Does a company with more reviews mean better spring work?
Not on its own. Volume mostly reflects how long a company has been collecting reviews and how many quick jobs it does. Spring replacement is a small slice of most companies work, so a big total can hide very little spring experience. Our own profile is 5.0 from 49 reviews, which is a modest total, and the thing to do with it is read it rather than compare the count.
Should I be worried if a spring quote is much cheaper than the others?
Be curious rather than worried, and ask what is included. A low number often means a single spring where the door should have two, a 10,000-cycle spring where the door works hard enough to need more, or cables and drums left in place because they were not inspected. Torsion replacement here generally lands between $180 and $290 once the door is measured, and a quote far below that usually gets the rest of the way to normal once the technician is in your garage.
Is it safe to replace a garage door spring myself?
This is the one common garage repair we tell people not to attempt. A torsion spring is wound to several hundred pounds of stored tension, it needs two correctly sized winding bars and a clamp on the shaft, and the failure mode injures hands and faces. If you want to do your own garage work, rollers, weather seal and sensor alignment are all reasonable. Springs are not.

Search any company profile for the word spring and read what comes back, including ours. Then call (480) 405-0909 with your door width and how many springs you can see, and we will give you the range before we drive.
Where we work
Peoria and the north-west Valley
Spring work needs stock on the van rather than a long drive, and we keep Peoria on the same run as the Sun Cities, Surprise, El Mirage, Youngtown and Glendale so the right spring is usually already with us.
