Garage Door Opener Repair With Warranty In Tempe

A warranty is only useful to the person who can produce it. In a city of rentals and quick sales, that is a more interesting question than it sounds.

Above All Garage Door Service gives a written one-year workmanship warranty on opener repairs in Tempe, attached to the address and the part fitted, so it still stands if a tenant moves or the house sells. Manufacturer parts cover is checked and claimed on your behalf first. Arizona ROC338265. Call (480) 405-0909.

Our warranty attaches to the door, not to the person who paid

Our written workmanship warranty runs for one year from the date of the repair, and it is recorded against the address and the specific part we fitted. If the tenant who let us in has moved out, if the landlord has changed agent, or if the house has sold, the cover is unaffected. Whoever is at the door when the same part fails can claim it.

That matters more in Tempe than almost anywhere else in the valley. Between student-cycle rentals and a fast resale market, the odds that the person who paid for a repair is still at that address a year later are genuinely low. A warranty written to a named customer quietly evaporates in those conditions.

What we ask for is the address and roughly when the work was done. We hold the record, including the photo of the part we removed, so you do not need to produce a receipt somebody else was given.

Manufacturer parts cover you may already hold and nobody checked

Separate from anything we give you, the opener itself carries manufacturer cover that varies by component. Motors commonly carry long or lifetime terms, belts and rails shorter ones, and the logic board and drive gear shorter again. Those clocks start at installation, not at purchase, and they transfer with the property rather than the owner.

Most people never claim them, because claiming requires knowing the install date and having the model and serial number, which are on a label inside the head unit cover. Before we quote a part, we look. If your drive gear or logic board is still inside the manufacturer term, the part comes free and you pay labour only.

That is a smaller invoice for us and it is the single most common way we save Tempe customers money. It also tells you something useful about any quote you receive that did not include someone taking the cover off and reading the label.

The drive gear inside an opener head with the cover removed
The drive gear is the part most often covered by a manufacturer parts warranty and most often fitted without one, because nobody looked up the install date.

Parts-only, labour-only, and the arithmetic that decides

There are three ways an opener repair can be covered and they are routinely confused. Parts cover means a free component and a paid visit. Labour cover means a paid component and a free visit. A workmanship warranty means that if the same repair fails, we come back and redo it at no charge, part and labour both.

The arithmetic matters when you are deciding between repair and replacement. A 35 dollar service call plus labour on a free warranty part is usually a fraction of a new operator. A new operator, on the other hand, restarts every manufacturer clock from zero and comes with our installation warranty on top.

We will lay both numbers out and say which we would choose on your door and why. The honest answer on a fifteen-year-old unit with no parts supply is often replacement, and on a six-year-old belt drive with a cracked gear it is almost always repair.

What quietly voids cover, and what does not

What does not void it: using the door normally, pulling the release cord in an emergency, a power cut, a dead remote battery, or having us out for a completely unrelated fault.

What does: a second contractor opening the head unit after us, a part substituted for a non-equivalent one, forcing a door that has jumped its track, or continuing to run the opener after it has started reversing against an obstruction. That last one turns a sensor adjustment into a gear replacement more often than anything else on this list.

If something on that list has already happened, tell us. We would rather quote the actual condition of the door than find it halfway through and have an awkward conversation on your driveway. Arizona ROC338265, bonded and insured, working Tempe doors since 2012.

Asked by Tempe owners, buyers and landlords

What is covered, who can claim it, and for how long

How long is the warranty on a garage door opener repair?

Our workmanship warranty is one year in writing from the date of the repair, covering the part we fitted and the labour to refit it. Manufacturer parts cover on the opener itself runs separately and is often longer, which we check before quoting.

Does the warranty transfer if I sell the house or change tenants?

Yes. Our cover is recorded against the address and the part fitted rather than against a named customer, so a new owner or a new tenant can claim it. Give us the address and the approximate date and we will find the record.

How do I know if my garage door opener is still under manufacturer warranty?

The model and serial number are on a label inside the opener head, and the term runs from installation rather than purchase. We read that label before quoting a part, because a logic board or drive gear still inside term means you pay labour only.

What voids a garage door opener repair warranty?

Another contractor opening the unit after us, a non-equivalent substitute part, forcing a door that has come off its track, or continuing to operate an opener that is reversing against an obstruction. Normal use, power cuts and pulling the release cord do not.

Is it cheaper to repair or replace a garage door opener?

On a unit under about eight years old with parts still supplied, repair is nearly always cheaper, especially if a part is still inside manufacturer term. On an older unit with no logic board supply, replacement usually costs less over the following two years, and we will show you both figures.

Ask what the warranty covers before you book, not after

We will read you the terms on the phone: what is covered, for how long, what is excluded and who can claim. If a company will not do that before taking the booking, the terms are unlikely to improve once the invoice is written.
